Job Purpose:
The lead writer for national sites will create news pieces and page content as it relates to the US sports betting and online gaming industries. The writer will be responsible for about 7-10 pieces per week of variable length, sometimes less based on the depth required. While much of the content will be assigned by individual site runners, the lead writer will also be expected to generate content ideas.

Job duties and responsibilities:
Write copy and news stories for Catena’s top-level sites— including Legal Sports Report and Online Poker Report – as well as content for sites elsewhere in the network of sites, on occasion.
Generate story ideas and resources that would be of use to readers interested in sports betting and online gaming legislation, as well as stories about the industries themselves
Update and rewrite existing content, when necessary working with site runners to identify the content and pages that need to be updated.
Qualifications include:
Two- or four-year college degree.
At least two years of writing experience, with ability to produce published writing samples.
Comfortable writing quickly and under deadline, while maintaining an attention to detail.
Past experience writing about the gaming industry in general and sports betting or online casino is preferred but not required.
Experience working in WordPress is also preferred but not required.
Working Conditions:

Evening or weekend work may be required on occasion.

Physical Requirements:

Writers may occasionally be asked to travel to sites or events in the course of the job. Otherwise, there are no physical requirements.
