SCOPE OF THE JOB

  • Catena Media PLC is launching it’s Japan version of www.asktraders.com in November 2019 – this role is to be the Commercial Manager for the Japan version of the site
  • AskTraders is a website for people who want to learn about trading forex, stocks and CFD’s and the commercial managers role is to help ensure the correct business are advertising on it. You will work alongside the product team in the UK to help create the content and features strategy which will further help businesses who advertise get more customers. You do not need to know about trading as this will be part of your learning phase but some knowledge will be useful.
  • Experience and knowledge of selling to business in a media agency capacity or similar would be an advantage
  • YOUR CHALLENGE

  • You must be bi-lingual. Japan native and conversational written English. The written English can be “average” providing that verbal communication is good.
  • As Japan Commercial Manager, you are responsible for making sure that Catena Media optimizes revenues across all Japan traffic for its websites which specialise in promoting forex trading and CFD trading. You also need to make sure that all aspects of the products are working in optimal way out of a conversion perspective.
  • In the role you are also obliged to always pick up on new trends in the industry and opportunities to monetize traffic. In order to succeed with these tasks, you will develop your sales pipeline and where required, build a sales team for the Japan market. 
  • As Japan Commercial Manager, you are a critical asset to the operational management team in terms of providing real feedback and insights from the operators. You are in the driving seat in Catena Media’s ambitions for Japan and in creating outstanding relationships with all Japan operators and partners.
  • As Japan Commercial Manager you are responsible for:
  • Manage the commercial activities ensuring targets are met
  • Bring on board new b2b advertisers
  • Create quarterly plans for sales packages and placements
  • Manage and control the sales package collateral
  • Manage and have oversight of revenue performance numbers
  • Making sure that we are always working with the best partners out of a conversion
  • Create processes that will make our way of working with sales more effective.
  • Develop your staff in terms of skill and career progression.
  • Be willing to initially work remotely until larger offices are sought
  • Be willing to work out of hours to communicate with the UK teams

  • To succeed in this role, you need to have the following qualifications and characteristics:
  • Strong experience in b2b sales
  • Proven track record of sales and negotiation
  • Strong communicator in Japanese and English
